Different Haredi sects have joined forces during a general election assembly of "Yahadut Hatorah", an ultra-Orthodox Jewish party running for the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. Top Haredi leaders have met to coordinate their standpoints, especially since the growing public pressure in Israeli society to recruit Haredi men to Israel's army, a move ultra-orthodox strongly oppose.
